Industrial DMZ (IDMZ)
Also known as: Level 3.5, OT DMZ
An industrial DMZ (IDMZ) is a buffer network between enterprise IT and the OT network, through which all traffic between the two must pass via controlled intermediary systems.

In the Purdue model the IDMZ sits at level 3.5. It hosts services such as jump hosts for remote access, patch and antivirus relays, and data brokers or historian replicas, so that no direct connection is needed between IT and OT. Because nearly every attack path from IT into OT crosses the IDMZ, it is one of the first places to monitor.
